Why do I write?

I love to make people laugh. I previously wrote about the joy I received from making a lecture hall erupt with laughter (intentionally).
It was the same joy I felt when I, as a teen, made my mom laugh herself to tears by a silly skit/dance number I did for her with panty hose around my ankles…I know, seriously, the things I do for a laugh! But I remember that joy I felt giving her joy! I write to make people laugh.

I love to make people think…about things they don’t already know, things they may have forgotten, their hopes, dreams, and potential. I write to make people think.

I love to make people remember…their childhoods, pasts, fond memories, loved ones who are no longer here, who they were and who they always wanted to be. I write to make people remember.

I love to entertain people …make ’em laugh, cry, think, remember…”let me entertain you, let me make you smile, let me do a few tricks, some old and then some new tricks, I’m very versatile”…

Time is so precious. We take it for granted. We don’t have enough. We waste it. When a reader invests their time to read my writing, I hope hope hope that they laugh (when intended), think, remember, are inspired or filled with hope, or at the very least are entertained. This is why I write.
